Beach Vacations
Phan Thiet Beach Break
At just three-hours from Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet and its beach at Mui Ne offer a great break from the hustle and hassles of the big city. The town itself retains some of its charm, and the colourful harbour, home to Phan Thiet’s large fishing fleet, is a popular sight with visitors. The fleet ensures that the restaurants and resorts in town and along Mui Ne beach are always able to offer some Vietnam’s best seafood dishes. Indeed, dining is one of the many delights of a stay in Phan Thiet. In recent years, the 21km stretch of golden sand along Mui Ne has witnessed a transformation as numerous international-standard resorts have opened along the beach front. That said, the area is not overdeveloped and the resorts tend to be sympathetically designed and constructed. The range of accommodation is wide, from basic bungalows costing just a few dollars to super-luxury resort complexes and hotels offering enough facilities to satisfy all but the most jaded travellers.
Nha Trang Beach Holiday
Nha Trang, ‘the Vietnamese Riviera’, is a delightful little town of tranquility and friendly locals. There is 6 miles of splendid white sandy beach with azure water, backed by green hills and palm trees. The town has little noise or pollution because locals prefer walking or biking to motorbiking. Best time is considered between May-Oct.
Hoi An Beach Break
Perfect combination of culture trip & beach relaxation. The fascinating ancient port of Hoi An is a maze of narrow streets, witness to the legacy of the Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese traders who used the port in years gone by. On these days, it is a chance to visit Cham Museum, home to Vietnam’s largest collection of Cham treasures.
Da Nang Beach Vacations
The busy seaport of Danang in central Vietnam is the country’s fourth-largest city. The French named the city Tourane after it succeeded Hoi An (Faifo) as a vital deep water trading port in the 19th century. More recently, Danang was made famous in the Hollywood film “Good Morning Vietnam”. A short drive from downtown takes visitors to the splendid beaches of Non Nuoc (China Beach), My Khe and Tien Sa. Danang is also the gateway to World Heritage sites: My Son, Hoi An and Hue.
Quy Nhon Beach Holidays
Quy Nhon is a seaside town with about 200,000 inhabitants, whose harbors are accessible to more than 4,000 boats and ships. This town is about 650 km far from Ho Chi Minh City. Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh, is the homeland of the most respected Vietnamese hero: Nguyen Hue. Being the cradle of the classic theatre “Tuong” and the martial art of Viet Nam, it used to be the important commercial centre of exchanging trade with China. The ancient capital of the Cham Tra Ban (1000-1471) is located 26 km far from Quy Nhon. Nowadays Quy Nhon is famous for its local products like bird’s nests. The province has quite many Cham towers like Banh It Towers… The sandy beach here is good and right in the town.
Phu Quoc Island Beach Break
Phu Quoc, Viet Nam’s biggest island, lies in the Gulf of Thailand and has an area of 573 square kilometres. The island belongs to Kien Giang province whose headquarters is in Rach Gia Town. Phu Quoc has many beautiful pristine beaches. The sea water is pure and has the colour of sapphire. The marine life at many of the southern beaches is fantastic. Several islets are suitable for swimming, diving and fishing. Phu Quoc has a diverse terrain, with mountains, forests, a plain and beaches of many kinds. It has about 100 mountains, some of which are more than 550 metres high. The island has temperate weather, so trees are abundant. Forests cover a big area. The jungle has many precious hardwood trees. Next to the jungle is a cinnamon forest. Phu Quoc’s cinnamon is thick and contains a lot of oil. In the lower hilly regions, people grow pepper, coffee, rubber and coconut. Phu Quoc’s pepper is fragrant and hot and is a valuable export item.
Whale Island Beach Holiday
Around 70km north of Nha Trang, a boat ride brings you to the delightfully secluded Whale Island, known for its coconut palms and splendid coral. The recently opened Whale Island Resort consists of fifteen cosy but simple bungalows and four family cottages sheltered in a cove of white sand. The lack of phones and televisions in the bungalows makes Whale Island the perfect getaway and for the active there are plenty of water sports on offer including sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, para-sailing and fishing. Alternatively the secluded beach is the ideal place to relax for a few days with a good book. The resort is not entirely spartan and creature comforts come in the form of a restaurant specializing in Vietnamese seafood and terrace bar overlooking the sea.
