THAILAND MAPS
Thailand is a fairly large country, approximately the size of France, with a growing population of around 61 million. It sits right in the centre of mainland South-East Asia bordering Myanmar to the east, Laos to the north and northeast, Cambodia to the west and Malaysia to the south. The north of the country is mainly mountainous while the central region is a vast fertile plain. In the south the country stretches for over a 1,000km down a narrow peninsula to the Malaysian border.

MYANMAR MAPS
Myanmar is the largest country in the South-East Asian peninsula stretching 2,000km from north to south and over 900km from east to west covering an area the size of Great Britain and France combined. Three quarters of Myanmar is covered by mountains and jungle and there are no less than 135 ethnic groups living in the country. Flat plains and wide rivers characterize the geography of the centre of the country while mountain ranges run along the Thai border up to the Himalayas in the east. The southern coast of the country borders the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Myanmar’s main river is the 2,000km long Ayeyarwady River, formerly known as the Irrawaddy, around which most of the country’s best farmland is found.

CAMBODIA MAPS
Cambodia shares borders in the north with Laos and Thailand, in the east with Vietnam and in the southwest with the Gulf of Thailand. The landscape comprises tropical rainforest and fertile cultivated land traversed by many rivers. In the northeast area rise highlands. The capital is located at the junction of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. The latter flows from a large inland lake, also called Tonle Sap, situated in the centre of the country. There are numerous offshore islands along the southwest coast.

LAOS MAPS
Covering an area approximately the size of Great Britain, Laos shares borders with Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and China. Around 70% of Laos is mountainous with mountains and plateaus dominating the landscape. The Annamite Chain, known as the Truong Son Mountains in neighboring Vietnam, straddles the border between the countries reaching heights of over 2,500 metres above sea level in places.

Geographically Vietnam is a very diverse country with a great variety of scenery from the verdant tropical waterways of the deep south to the pine forests and peaks of the far north, from the sandy beaches of the coast to the cool tea and coffee plantations of the Central Highlands.
